Reginald D. Laryea - LOC Chairperson

Board Chairman, GOIL PLC, Ogilvy Ghana, PlanoAfrique, Scanad Ghana, Fossies Logistics and CEO of Media Majique.

An experienced marketer, brand steward and business leader. Reginald or Gaddy as we call him is passionate about strategically sound, effective marketing and brand communication that shows agility and authentic people engagement in execution.

He has over Four decades experience in the marketing services arena. Reginald and his team have over the years worked on a mix of International and local brands including Nestle, Unilever, Mnet/SuperSport, MultiChoice DSTV, SABMiller, MoneyGram International, Lufthansa/Ewald Ghana, Swissair, Merchant Bank, Ecobank Ghana, GOIL, the Miss Ghana/ Miss World franchise etc.

Gaddy and his team did the brand migration of Ghana Telecom (GT) to Vodafone Ghana as well as the brand migration of International Commercial Bank (ICB) to FBN Bank.

Over the last few years, Gaddy has concentrated his energies as business mentor and coach for many market entry brands.

Gaddy is a two time past president of the Advertising Association of Ghana (AAG) and the first African Director of the International Advertising Association (IAA). Gaddy has served as a member of the Board of Advisors of AIESEC Ghana for many years. In November 2004, AIESEC International inducted R.D.Laryea into the AIESEC Hall of Fame.

In 2019, he was appointed and served as marketing consultant to some Sports and Tourism Committees and Boards. He was appointed Vice Chairman, Steering Committee of the Year of Return in that same year and also served as Chairman of the Marketing and Sponsorship Ad-hoc committee of the GFA/FIFA Normalization Committee.

Mr. Laryea was further appointed the Vice Chairman of the Elections Vetting Committee of the GFA/FIFA Normalization Committee. Gaddy Laryea continues to serve as consultant to the PANAFEST Foundation since 2017 and also serves as a member of Beyond the Return Steering Committee.

Samuel Mbrayeh Quartey - LOC Vice Chairperson

Samuel Mbrayeh Quartey completed Post Graduate Diploma in Architecture, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and served as a teaching assistant before joining Rhaycad, an Architectural Practice in Accra for 3 years.

At Rhaycad, SM was exposed to the use of computers in Architecture and worked on projects such as the Chamber of Parliament, Kakum National Park and Latter-Day Saints Temple. SM later joined Deweger Gruter Brown and Partners in 1997, worked for another 5years on projects such as Standard Chartered Bank, Ring Road and Spintex, Dansoman and Sunyani, Apex Bank Head Office and Palm Court.

SM started his own practice registered as Atelier in 2003. Atelier is credited with outstanding projects such as the CAL Bank Head Office, National Communication Authority Head Office (NCA), Allied Oil Head Office, UNA Home, KEK Insurance Head Office, The Elizabeth and to mention but a few.

SM served as Honorary Secretary of the Ghana Institute of Architects in 2004 and inaugurated as the President of the Ghana Institute of Architects from 2020 to date.

SM is passionate about youth empowerment and has spoken on many platforms on issues related to the Youth. SM is an avid supporter of Arsenal and loves to play Scrabble.

Haruna Adamu - LOC Member

President of Ghana Scrabble Association, Executive Member of WESPA and member of the Ghana Olympic Committee.

Haruna Adamu was elected President of the Ghana Scrabble Association in the year 2020. His energetic, resilient and results-oriented attributes have generated attention and interest in Scrabble which it previously lacked.

It is worth noting that his expertise is sought widely within the Sports Industry in Ghana hence his appointment as the Security Coordinator and Covid Liaison Officer of Team Ghana at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.

He has been instrumental in promoting Scrabble in Ghana, partnering with schools and generating youth interest and participation in national and international tournaments.

Under his leadership, Ghana has achieved great milestones, notably attaining the hosting rights for the 2025 World Scrabble Championship, which is set to take place in Accra.

Mr. Adamu has also spearheaded initiatives to improve the competitive standard of Ghana's players and has advocated for greater media attention to promote the sport’s visibility.

He emphasizes collaboration with stakeholders such as the Ministry of Youth and Sports to ensure the success of events including the African Scrabble Championships.

Farida A. Iddriss - LOC Member

Farida A. Iddriss is currently the Administrative Manager of Ghana Olympic Committee.

She holds an Erasmus Mundus Masters in Sport Ethics and Integrity from Swansea University and 5 other Universities within Europe. Her undergraduate studies in Social Work and Sociology from University of Ghana.

She has held various portfolio within sports both international, continental and national. They are as follows;

Joojo Otsiabah - LOC Member

Joojo Otsiabah, age 46, is a business professional and the founder of Purple Commodities and Co-founder of Charlotte Originals both FMCG companies in Ghana.

Joojo brings to the LOC valuable experience in organizational and practical project management skills having done same in various roles at Faithdean Plc, Kilby & Gayford Plc, and London Borough of Redbridge all in the UK among others.

Provides opinions in Law on the spare and has practical experience in Procurement and Sourcing for companies.

A graduate in Physical Sciences (Chemistry major) from the University of Cape Coast in Ghana and Postgraduate in International Human Relations and Globalization from the University of Leicester, UK, as well as other certificate programmes.

Currently formed a club in Ghana – Achimota Scrabble Club – to be a most formidable and successful club with international outlook. The club also aims to invest into the Scrabble for Schools project in raising and grooming young talents in the game.

Adekoyejo Adegbesan - LOC Member

Adekoyejo Adegbesan is the President of the Pan African Scrabble Association (PANASA), he was re-elected in October 2024 to serve a second term. He is also the current Chairman of the Ogun State Scrabble Association.

Ade as he is called by family, friends and associates is a Programme Software Test Manager and the owner of the Airpop Group of Companies.

Under his leadership at PANASA, Scrabble for the first time in history became an All-African Games sports when it debuted at the 13 th African Games in Accra, Ghana. The Africa Youth Scrabble Championship also made its debut under his leadership. The African Scrabble Ratings & Badge System started under his administration.

Ade has recorded many other firsts and his addition on the Local Organizing Committee comes off the back of this.

He has directed many tournaments on the continent, including the 15 th Africa Scrabble Championship (ASC) which broke all previous ASC records and has financially backed hundreds of tournaments at home and abroad. He is the owner of the Airpop Falcons and Airpop Alphas Teams.

Outside Scrabble, Ade is a staunch supporter of Manchester United and enjoys playing online on his X-box console.
